Project Description: Parker hydraulics has an annual competition which challenges engineering students to construct a bicycle powered by a hydraulic drive system rather than a standard chain drive system. Our Project will meet the requirements for the competition.
Requirements: - Fabricate/retrofit a recumbent bicycle to accommodate a hydraulic drive system - Two-pump system stores hydraulic pressure from first pump in accumulators, releases to second (driving) pump via throttle - Start-up assist - Inline accumulator/system pressure gauges - Pressure relief valves - Design a regenerative braking system to recapture energy typically lost in braking -Three-way valve recycles driving-pump activity back to accumulators |
