Fixed?

Issue: FireFox 3 not working with assignment feature.  Students are not able to upload assignments.

Browser/OS Versions:  FireFox 3 -- verified on Windows XP and Vista.

Reported to Blackboard?: Blackboard is aware of the issue and plans to fix it in an upcoming release.

Update:  This also affects uploading to the Grade Center in FireFox 3.

Use Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox 2

Issue: Assignments not sending as email, even if "Email this accouncement to all course users" is checked.

Reported to Blackboard: Yes.  Blackboard is working with CIT's system administrators to determine the cause of the problem.

For now, copy and paste your announcement into a new message to your class.

From your KV course, go to Communications > Send Email.

 Fixed!

Issue: Grade Center loads slow.

Browser/OS Versions: This appears to be a server issue and so effects all browsers and platforms.

Reported to Blackboard?:  Blackboard is aware of the issue and has provided Calvin system administrators with software Hotfixes which we are in the process of testing. Check this page for updates.

Issue: Grade Center items not allowing "weight proportionally or equally" to be selected.

Reported to Blackboard? Yes. Blackboard communicated that a patch is not available at this time. The bug fix is scheduled for 8.0 SP5 (Service Pack 5), however. There is no ETA on SP5 release. Check this page for updates.

None.
Issue: Calvin Deals - unable to remove posting after submitted.
 2-10-09

Issue: If course is set to a language other than English, the functions in Grade Center > Manage > Organize Grade Center do not work.

Reported to Blackboard?  Yes.  More details to come...  Blackboard is aware of the issue and will provide a fix in the next release (version 9). Calvin is currently running version 8.3.

Switch course language to English, then organize Grade Center.  Switch language back when finished.

Issue: When using Dreamweaver to create a WebDAV site stored in the Content System, DreamWeaver will not create new files on the server, citing a permissions problem. Modifying existing files works correctly.

Reported to Blackboard?  No--this appears to be a Dreamweaver issue which will hopefully be fixed in a future release.

Open a Web Folder for your site in the Content System. Copy/drag new files from local folder to Web Folder. Then reload site in Dreamweaver. Modifying and uploading changes in Dreamweaver should now work.

Issue: Wikis or blogs created within the "Blogs & Wikis" tab (Expo sites) and then shared with an organization (for instance, your advising organization) are not accessible.  Users receive an access denied message.

Reported? This issue has been reported to Learning Objects, our vendor for blogs, wikis, and podcasting within KnightVision.

If you already have the wiki or blog set up, change the sharing options to allow "Everyone in the world" or "All registered users at this institution".

If you have not already created your wiki or blog and intend to share it with one pre-existing course or organization (as opposed to an ad-hoc group of individuals) we recommend you set up your wiki or blog within that particular course or organization.

To do so, enter your Control Panel and select a content area (such as Course Documents, or you can create your own using "Manage Course Menu").  From the drop-down menu, choose Blog or Wiki and click Go.  Set up your blog or wiki as directed from there.  It is by default shared with all users in the course or organization.

5-1-09Issue: Internet Explorer 8 is not fully compatible with KnightVision.

Use FireFox or use Internet Explorer's Compatibility Mode.

To enable Compatability Mode, go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings and then add calvin.edu to the list of sites.  If you wish, you can choose to run all sites in Compatibility Mode by checking the appropriate box.
