We have arrived in Siem Reap!
The journey on the "Dancing Road" went well. We passed many fields of rice, saw many water buffalo, and many small farming shanties. At the border we only had to pay tax-fine (bribe?) to a few people.
Now that we are in Siem Reap, we will generally follow a daily schedule:
Finish breakfast by 7:15 followed by morning devotions. Project work in the mornings and afternoons. After dinner we will have evening worship and team discussions. This morning, half of the students will be going to the Asia International University site to work on the fence project. They will be clearing brush with machetes and digging holes for fence posts. The other half will be going to the Kindergarten (early elementary Christian school that NIBC started two years ago). They will be interacting with the children and doing some small work projects there.
Tomorrow the teams will switch roles.
We will have some of the students post to this blog to report on their projects.
Most of us are adjusting well to all the changes. Those of us who have felt a little ill are now starting to feel better. Please pray for continued health and safety of our group.
